Staycation in Long Beach
Updated: Nov 13, 2021
A couple weekends ago my boyfriend & I had a relaxing baecation 25 minutes from home. Because COVID is still very much alive and well, we decided to vacation somewhere close to home that required no flights or out of state travel. Here are the details of where we stayed, and how our weekend was spent.
The hotel we stayed at was the Allegria hotel, located on Long Beach boardwalk in Long Beach, NY. I'm not going to lie, it felt like we were in Miami.
The accessibility to the beach was literally right outside the hotel doors. The hotel had great staff, and enforced safety guidelines amidst COVID-19. Masks are required in the lobby, and other common areas such as their restaurant & elevators. The hotel has a rooftop pool (which you had to make reservations to use, for capacity reasons), and they also provide 2 beach passes along with beach chairs and beach towels. The room we stayed in was a suite; very spacious, clean and modern, which is sometimes hard to find on Long Island. Our suite included a large bathroom with his and hers sinks, a separate tub and shower, a king bedroom, a living area, half bathroom at the entrance, and most importantly, and ocean view.
The actual beach wasn't crowded at all, although the boardwalk had a lot of pedestrians. We ate at this "shack" right on the boardwalk to get the full experience of a beach day, which was cash only. The ambiance totally made us forget we were only a few miles away from home. So, if you're looking to have a weekend getaway in NY, I highly recommend. Keep in mind, although it was close to home, it was definitely at a "real" vacation price. But, luxury costs right?
